GameCube certainly does not have a shortage of rare and valuable games on the market. Many fans are truly nostalgic about these games, wanting to find some of the more valuable scores. It is definitely a console filled with rare games, ones that many of us would be pumped to snag. Here is our list of some of the most expensive and rarest GameCube games.
NCAA College Basketball 2k3
This is certainly the rarest and most insanely valuable GameCube game. It can sell for around $100 used but a brand new copy can sell for somewhere around $500, even more! There are some graded copies online with people trying to get closer to $1,000 for it. While it is rare and desirable now, it did not sell very well at all when it first released. Many of these college basketball games don’t fair too well during initial release, and so there were very few copies ever made. It is one of the rarest and most valuable sports games to continue to become pricier as times goes on.

Fantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus
This is a re-released version of an existing game, which fixed a few of the bugs that it initially had. The game sold pretty poorly because it was an online rerelease game, and the excitement had already died out over the initial game. It can sell for $60-$200 depending on the condition and if it is new. For collectors this can be an appealing game, especially since it has more of a rarity.

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
The GameCube edition of this game can sell for around $100 online, but can get up to $300 brand new. This is actually the ninth installment in the Fire Emblem series, it features an entirely different world and reality. The game received excellent feedback for its story and gameplay, but the graphics seemed to be a bit lacking. While it received both negative and positive feedback during initial release, it is definitely a hot one for collectors now.

Super Smash Bros Melee
Super Smash Bros is pretty much always a somewhat valuable and desirable game series, regardless of the platform. This version is valued at around $60, but selling for around $150 brand new. Another awesome game that any Super Smash Bros collectors would kill to get their hands on.

Digimon Rumble Arena 2
Similar to Super Smash Bros in gameplay, this features the Digimon characters instead. This did not sell as well as the original which is probably what makes it somewhat more valuable now. While it was not received well when it first came out, collectors still really want this game now. It is has become more of a collector’s item, and something for nostalgia purposes. Digimon Rumble Arena 2 can sell for around $40, but up to $200 when brand new.

While this game was released on all systems and was reviewed very well, it sold pretty poorly. The sequels release actually seemed to create more hype for the original, and made it something that now sells fairly well. The used price can be around $30, but can get up to $200 brand new.

Super Mario Sunshine
Mario games of all kinds almost always sell fairly well and become popular for collectors. They can become pretty expensive over time, since fans would pay somewhat higher prices just to get their hands on them. The graphics and gameplay were highly praised, and so now it can sell for around $50 from resellers, going for $100 brand new.

Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix Bundle
This is your typical DDR game except for with Mario characters, music and art. This was initially released with a limited quantity, hoping to make it a special edition. It was sold around Christmas and so it sold very quickly. It sells for about $50 but can get up to $200 if it is still in its original packaging.

Resident Evil Code Veronica X
Rereleased for GameCube this version didn’t do quite as many sales during its initial release. With nostalgia growing for Resident Evil fans this one has continued to climb in price. Used it can sell for around $30, but can get to around $150 for a new copy. It definitely gets less attention than some of the more popular Resident Evil nostalgic games, but it is certainly growing in price and sentimental draw.

While the original was highly desirable, the sequel was also critiqued pretty well. It didn’t sell as well as the original though, making there a few less copies. It is now highly desirable for fans, selling from $50-$150 online depending on the condition.
