Top 10 Rarest and Most Expensive Disney Plush Designs

Any Disney fan who enjoys collecting the Disney Plush dolls, realizes that some can be challenging to acquire. The ones that are retired become more and more expensive as time goes on, making it hard to keep your collections complete. Each Disney plush is made with incredible details and high quality materials, which is why they are hard to beat. You can often tell the difference between the original Disney plush and a knock-off version, since they simply lack the quality that Disney has. Of course many people purchase them for their children, others do enjoy collecting for themselves.  New Disney plush dolls can sell from $10-$40 depending on the size and design, so they aren’t too hard to obtain. Disney also runs plenty of sales which can make grabbing your favorites rather easy. While the new ones might be obtainable for collectors, some of the retired deigns are nearly impossible to get your hands on. The more desirable the higher the price goes, and so we decided to make a list of some of the most expensive Disney plush dolls and animals.

Jumbo Mufasa Plush

Many of the rarest and highest prices Disney plush dolls are older items from the Lion King. The oversized Mufasa plush sells for around $800 online now, since it is retired and difficult to get your hands on. It is truly a beautiful piece, but certainly not easy for fans to acquire. While prices can range and sometimes you can snag them at great deals, most of the time the older Mufasa will sell for quite the large sum.

Maleficent 38 Inch Plush

This gorgeous Maleficent Dragon from Sleeping Beauty does not sell for regular retail value. Not only is she oversized and incredibly detailed, she is also rather rare. The peace can sell for a couple hundred dollars depending on where it is found, and is certainly difficult to acquire. Anyone who loves Sleeping Beauty will want to get their hands on this gorgeous jumbo plush, but might find the task a bit difficult. She has incredible details and a soft plushy feel, which makes her quite the site.

Kiara and Kovu

Kiara and Kovu are the beloved characters from the Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, and are nearly impossible to get your hands on without spending a lot of extra cash. They are beautifully designed and incredibly rare, without any local stores having them in possession. You will have to search the internet to purchase these gorgeous Disney plush figures, and will likely end up only finding them available for a few hundred dollars.

Simba and Nala

Simba and Nala are certainly available at retail price, since the Disney store continues to release new versions of them. While the new versions are easier to come by, some of the older plush versions are rather rare. The older Simba and Nala stuffed animals are rather expensive, but the detail and unique classic look do make them rather desirable.

Scar and Hyenas

While many other Lion King plush figures are hard to come by, Scar and the Hyenas are some of the rarest. Scar isn’t easy to get your hands on, but if you are willing to pay the extra dollars then you can score this gorgeously detailed item. Scar and his Hyenas usually sell for a couple hundred, sometimes cheaper if you are willing to wait around for a great deal.

Lady and the Tramp Peg

While Disney has released new versions of the the Lady and the Tramp plush animals, the older ones can be extremely valuable! The new Lady and the Tramp are certainly gorgeous and detailed, but the older ones are classic and hard to come by. They also released Peg a while back, and she seems to be one of the hardest items to come by. She can sell online for a few hundred dollars, and has become one of the more rare Disney plush figures.

Aristocats

Aristocats is certainly a beloved Disney film, and some of the collectible items are extremely valuable. Some of the older versions of Thomas O’Malley and the lovely Duchess can sell for a hundreds of dollars online! They currently only have a new version of Marie released at the Disney store, so the rest of her family can certainly be hard to come by. The fact that Disney doesn’t have any new releases of the Aristocats (besides Marie) makes them incredibly desirable, and relatively expensive.

Prince John

Prince John from Robin Hood is actually a difficult plush to come by. While Robin Hood and the lovely Maid Marian can be found on the Disney website, some of the other pieces aren’t so readily available. This particular version of Prince John is rare and can sell for over a hundred dollars, which is rather pricey since the original value is only $20.

Princess Tiger Lily

Tiger Lily from Peter Pan is a beautifully designed plush doll, and is actually rather rare. Many of the Peter Pan plush dolls are difficult to acquire, especially the older releases. Tiger Lilly in particular is challenging to find anywhere, so that means taking to online third party sellers to acquire her.

Mickey Memories

These items are actually brand new, which makes it rather surprising that they made it onto our list. The Mickey Memories plush can also be purchase with a pin and a mug, as a special limited edition monthly release. They are still currently coming out through this year (2018) and some of these are selling for rather high prices! Steamboat Willie seems to be selling for a couple hundred dollars, which is well over the original retail value. The fact that they are limited edition and only sold for the month they were released, has made these items rather valuable and hard to come by.
