The Top 20 Most Valuable Funko Hikari Figures

The Top 20 Most Valuable Funko Hikari Figures

While these figures can be overpriced when they initially release, some have become even more valuable over time. They have a unique look that isn’t really something all Funko fans are drawn to. While Hikaris can definitely be very cool designs, it takes a specific collector to be interested in their price tag and size. They aren’t as compact and small as Pop figures, or even the Mini figures, making the Hikari design harder to collect without having a lot of space in your display room.

While they aren’t for everyone, the people who are drawn to their style definitely enjoy being able to collect their favorites. While some of these Hikaris aren’t extremely valuable, others continue to climb in value. As we have mentioned before there are many different things that can dictate the value of a collectible. The most common thing is a limited edition with a small edition size, this makes it extremely hard to acquire these collectibles without having to shell out a lot of cash. The sellers are the ones who dictate this price and if fans are willing to pay then it continues to grow in value. Disney puts so much time and effort into all of their creations, and their dolls are no different. Some of these dolls are so beautifully detailed that fans cannot help but stare in wonder. These classic and stunning pieces become so wanted because they remind us of our childhood and much simpler times. There is something about Disney which truly inspires us and helps us gain a happier state of being. When we surround ourselves with our favorite Disney collectibles and products we feel more at home and the magic begins to surround us. Why Disney’s New Streaming Service is Such a Big Deal

Why Disney’s New Streaming Service is Such a Big Deal

Many of you might be aware that Disney has recently announced their own streaming service to be brought to life in 2019. Not only does this mean that Disney is removing their films from Netflix, but they will only be exclusively viewable on their personal streaming service. This definitely makes Disney’s new service one that most fans of Disney, Marvel or Star Wars will absolutely have to sign up for. It really leaves no options for people who don’t want to miss out on some of their favorite franchises. As someone who is personally a fan of all three, I can’t see myself passing up on this new service.

Original Series

Not only is Disney going to be removing most of their movies from Netflix and onto their new streaming service. They will also be creating plenty of brand new and completely original shows that will be exclusive to their service. They have stated that they expect to release a new Star Wars series, a Marvel series and Monsters Inc. as well.

This is definitely a big deal for Disney, as we have seen it make a major impact on Netflix. Not only will this streaming service create a place for fans who want to enjoy all of the Disney films and shows, it also means new exclusives that cannot be found elsewhere. Original shows that can only be seen in one place, is definitely a great way to entice viewers and maintain control of the film world. Disney certainly knows what they are doing and this will likely result in their service become the biggest and most popular one out there.

Owning Marvel and Lucas Films along with their Disney originals, makes them already a force to be reckoned with. Having access to some of the biggest and most popular names in the movie business makes Disney rather hard to beat. These are some of the biggest film companies in the business, and Disney has control of them. This keeps a large fan base coming their way, not only fans specific to the Disney classics. Now with their new series being released on their streaming service, they will definitely be the ones ruling the film industry.

From now on if you want to see the new Star Wars, Marvel and Disney films after they hit theaters, you will need to have access to Disney’s streaming service. This gives them all of the power when it comes to the rather large fan base that is wrapped around these franchises. While other companies like Netflix know how to survive amongst these challenges, Disney is still going to be taking a lot of control when it comes to capturing subscribers. As far as we know the Netflix original series such as Jessica Jones, Daredevil and other similar titles are likely to remain within the grasp of Netflix for now. Disney also announced that this streaming service will not include any of their R-Rated films or shows, and those will be streamed on Hulu.

Disney will also transfer their live-action films to the service after they hit theaters. There is even talk of a few live-action films that will be directly viewable on the service, instead of going to theaters at all. Ones like Sword in the Stone and Lady and the Tramp are said to be in the works currently.

A Whole New World

It seems that there will be plenty of new releases and unexpected surprises with Disney’s new service. They have already announced new exclusive movies and series will be in the works, so what else could this mean? Disney is not one to hold back and remain stagnant, so we will likely continue to see new exclusives and surprises around every corner as far as this new service is concerned. It is definitely something that fans will be eager to sign up for, especially if they don’t want to miss out on being able to dive into their favorite films all in one place. Let’s face it, Disney sees where the money is and they follow down that path rather strategically. Thankfully every step they take is well planned and offers fans plenty of value and enjoyment. I predict that the service will be well worth the wait and the money, although no official price range has been announced just yet.

What do you think about this new service? Are you excited or concerned?

Tips and Tricks for Planning Your Next Disney Vacation

Tips and Tricks for Planning Your Next Disney Vacation

There is nothing more exciting than booking your Disney trip, especially if you get to enjoy it with loved ones. Disney is certainly a wonderful place to visit, but there is a lot take in while you are there. It is important to take a step back and plan for this vacation, or else you might find that you have missed out on some of the best parts. In order to truly gain the most out of your experience you want to learn a few things before embarking on your exciting new adventure. Here are just a few tips that could really improve your next Disney vacation.

Think About What You’re Hoping For

The first step towards planning a great vacation is to consider what you are hoping for during the trip. If you want to immerse yourself completely, then you are taking on a completely different endeavor than someone who just wants to visit the magic for one day. Obviously each location is different, but the commonly talked about Disney vacation spot is Orlando, Florida- this is simply because there are more parks there to visit. In Walt Disney World there are four exciting parks, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. These are four rather unique parks with very different experiences tied to them.

Someone who is hoping for a more laid back and classic experience will want to take their family to Magic Kingdom. This is where the incredible Cinderella Castle resides, and it is certainly an amazing sight to behold. There will be parades and amazing shops, and plenty of fun-filled rides. This is where you will see plenty of cast members dressed as your favorite Disney characters, making it more of a child friendly location.

Animal Kingdom is my personal favorite of all the parks and is definitely something both children and adults can enjoy. The Safari ride is one of the most incredibly experiences, where you feel like you have been dropped into a real African Safari. There are also plenty of amazing rides and themes around this park which make it truly incredible.

Epcot is much more of an adult experience, with the food and wine festival being a major attraction there. You can immerse yourself in different cultures from around the world, and experience a little piece of each of them. It is definitely an incredible experience, but this park is rather large and less enjoyable for children. The joys within Epcot would be experiencing the food and drink, as well as the amazing shopping.

Hollywood Studios is one of the smaller parks and WDW, and is rather easy to make your way through. It is still a very fun experience for both adults and children. It includes a beautiful aquarium which makes it something to draw in Disney goers. There are a few exciting rides, as well as some with a much slower pace.

I personally adore immersing myself completely and attending all four of the amazing parks, since they are all completely worth it. This however is quite a lot to absorb in one trip, and likely means you need at least a week to really take it all in. Each park honestly takes a day to completely go through and enjoy it entirely, so be advised any less than this and you will be missing out- not to mention you will be completely exhausted.

You also want to consider the time of year, since Disney has different events all year round. For example during Christmas they have incredibly Christmas decorations and amazing parades. They have different themes throughout the year, which means planning accordingly can help you discover which surroundings will appeal to you most. You also want to make sure to plan certain restaurants ahead of time, such as Be Our Guest. These fill up quickly, so you need to book these types of eating events before your trip.

Download The Right Apps

It is important to remember that Disney is always moving forward, which means they have adapted the use of technology into the park experience. I advise strongly into researching the different restaurant and event apps to help you maintain connected to the full experience.

My personal favorite App is the WDW Lines app, which helps you keep track of how long the lines are at each park. You can open up your app and plan out your route, which is especially helpful in the larger parks. Some of the rides can have extremely long waits, so it is best to figure out how long you are willing to wait before trekking across the park. There is nothing more frustrating than walking all the way to a specific ride, only to discover the wait time is of an hour long. With this App you can plan around this by seeing an estimated wait time for each and every ride in the parks.

Appropriate Footwear

I cannot stress the importance of comfortable footwear enough. Even people who are in good physical shape find themselves in pain when they walk through the parks and wait in lines for hours. You need to make sure you have incredibly comfortable shoes, and possible a change of clothes. You want to make sure to be as comfortable as possible, since Disney is definitely an experience that can become a bit exhausting. This is especially important for people who are taking on all four of these incredibly parks.

It can be exhausting and a bit painful, but it is completely worth every second of it. You just want to be sure to prepare yourself by ensuring that your attire is going to keep you as comfortable as possible. The right shoes are vital when it comes to any theme park, but they are especially important for your Disney trip.

Bring Food

While you cannot bring food into most of the parks, you can bring it into your hotel room. If you are a picky eater, it can be difficult to find food that you might enjoy when you are within Disney grounds. If you are staying outside of Disney then it isn’t as complicated. When on Disney grounds you won’t want to endure the maze that is traffic into and out of the grounds themselves. It can be useful to have a few snacks for the hotel room, especially if you are going to find yourself staying at the parks all day long. When you get back to your room you won’t enjoy the idea of going back out again for a snack or two. While the hotels often have good room service, some have minimal options- so having the extra supplies is beneficial.

Pack Appropriately

If you are attending WDW you want to consider the time of year and what the weather will be like. It isn’t sunny and warm all year round, and some of the winter months can become a bit chilly. You want to make sure to pack options since the weather can find itself jumping around in rather unusual ways. Florida weather is not predictable is what I am trying to say, so pack wisely.

Fast Pass Wisely

Once you purchase your tickets you want to go ahead and schedule a few past passes. This is something that can be done online through the WDW fast pass website, and can even be done a day or two before each park. You might not get fast passes for some of the more popular rides if you are going last minute, but you can certainly get ahead of the lines for many others.

You are allotted three past passes per ticket, per day, and you have to schedule for a specific time frame. You have an hour to get to the ride when you schedule the fast pass, which is rather useful. Make sure to plan around which rides you want to jump the line for, and make sure to set your entire family up onto your one account. It allows you to schedule everyone for the same ride, at the same time, which is rather useful.

Ultimately there is nothing more exciting and enjoyable than planning your Disney vacation. You simply want to make sure to plan a few things ahead in order to get the most out of this magical experience. Some things will be learned during the trip, but a few of these tips will help save you the hassle. Enjoy your amazing vacation!

The Reasons Why Disney Creates Amazing Role Models for Children

The Reasons Why Disney Creates Amazing Role Models for Children

There are some people who aren’t fully aware of the magic that is Disney. These people have a false idea that Disney is a bad representation of what young men and women should grow up to become. They say that Disney films make women seem helpless, and that they don’t create a sense of independence. Many of the people who possess these opinions really don’t dive deeper in order to understand each film and the underlying morals and ideals that make it so wonderful. Disney films set amazing standards for young people, and give them a chance to learn more about the best things in life. These films give children a better outlook on life and teach them some of the biggest and most valuable lessons that life has to offer. Of course everyone has the right to their opinion, but it is always important to do research before really forming such a harsh belief. Personally I believe that these stereotypes towards Disney are completely unfounded, and lack a true understanding of what it means to be a Disney fan, both as children and as adults.

It is important to address these Disney films as a whole, but also to take apart each film in order to explain why the attacks on them are not true. So we should probably begin with some of the classics and work our way towards the more recent films, instead of simply discussing why Disney films set great morals in general. This will help us gain a deeper understanding of the specific characters and why people develop such incorrect opinions towards them.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

I understand that Snow White is a much older film, which can cause it to seem outdated in some ways. It is important to remember the time this film came from, and to take that into account. On top of that there is really nothing wrong with Snow White or the ideals it can teach young people. Snow White teaches us that even though life can hand us challenges, we should always be brave and kind to others. She continues to be positive no matter what she endures, and even though she has lost so much. Snow White cares for others and does not lose her warmth and goodness, which is something to be admired in her. Whether or not you like her character is beside the point, Snow White teaches a positive moral, which is to persevere and not to let the darkness in others change who you are.

Cinderella

Cinderella is one of the films that gains the most negativity from people who simply see her as a helpless girl. The stereotypes attack Cinderella for sitting around just waiting for a man to come and rescue her. What these attackers forget to mention is that Cinderella is no ordinary young lady, she is actually in a completely abusive situation. If she were living today most people would sympathize with how she is treated and the suffering she continues to endure. Cinderella goes from having loving parents, to losing them both and winding up with a stepmother who tortures her and abuses her. She has everything taken away and has to become the household maid in her own childhood home. Her once loving environment turns into a place filled with cruel people who seek to control her. Even though Cinderella is in a rather dark place, she continues to live with kindness and with hope. She never really gives up on the hope that one day her life will change, and she will find love and happiness. Instead of lashing out Cinderella continues to be a good and kind person to those around her, living with a grace that is unmatched by most. This tells children to be strong even when life is hard, and to never lose your warmth and kindness just because you are around bad people.

These ideals are not bad, simply because Cinderella falls in love with a kind Prince. Falling in love is not something we should scoff at, and is not a good enough reason to consider this young lady a bad role model. Most people would not survive the pain she endures in her life, and yet she pushes through it without letting it taint who she is. To me that is an excellent role model for young people, and teaches them a lesson that is important to learn.

Beauty and the Beast

Belle is a character that gets attacked simply because people state that she had Stockholm syndrome. To set the record straight Belle does not possess the qualities and reactions that someone with Stockholm syndrome possesses. These people are frightened and whimpering, and will cower to anything their captor requests of them. Belle is the opposite of weak and is actually rather stern and independent. She knows how to put the Beast in his place and does not back down to him when he is being a brat. She shows him how to be a better version of himself and brings out the good inside of him. Belle is one of the bravest characters you will find and not just in a Disney film. She sacrifices herself for her father, and will do anything to protect him. Belle also teaches young people that physical appearance is not something that should be valued as much as who someone is on the inside. She does not love Gaston, even though he is strong and handsome. To her he is not attractive because he is not a truly good person. She focuses on understanding the soul of a person and clearly does not possess a shallow bone in her body.

Belle also teaches young people that it is okay to be a little different, even if others seem to judge you for it. She loves to read and enjoys dreaming, and she is not afraid to be herself even though it can be difficult for her sometimes. These morals are something to be valued, and are a big reason why Belle sets amazing standards for young people.

Aladdin

Jasmine is a perfect example of a young woman who is strong, independent and who speaks her mind freely. She refuses to just be a prize for some wealthy man, and wants to be her own woman. She is not obsessed with the idea of being a wife, and only wants to marry if she finds a man who loves and respects her. Jasmine also looks past Aladdin’s mistakes, and chooses to see the goodness that lies within. She does not care that he is poor, instead she loves him for who he is and chooses to bring out the best in him. Jasmine is her own woman, and does not turn to others to make her decisions for her.

Princess and the Frog

Tiana is an amazing role model for young people in many ways. Her work ethic proves that she is not expecting the good things in life to simply be handed to her. She was taught to always work hard and chase after her dreams, and she will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals in life. She is not afraid to work hard, and she proves this by pushing herself even when things seem a bit overwhelming. Tiana has strong inner morals, and doesn’t want to do anything that might compromise who she is or what she believes in. This teaches young people to always take initiate in your own life, and teaches them to be independent instead of simply relying on others to take care of you. Tiana does not need someone to protect her, instead she takes her life into her own hands.

Brave

Merida is an incredibly strong and independent young lady, which definitely makes her a suitable role model for children. She doesn’t want to simply rush into marriage, wish shows young women that it is perfectly acceptable to be your own woman without relying on the idea of romance. She wants to feel free to be herself, without having someone else control her actions. Merida is a bit of a tomboy, which is a great way to represent another type of young women instead of the stereotypical princess. This diversity is what makes Disney so great, giving a place for all types of young people to feel like they can be themselves. This film also represents another important thing, which is family. It shows how we can become prideful and distant from our parents as we grow up, and that mending that relationship is a door that swings both ways. It is okay to fight and become frustrated with one another, but that we need to remove our pride in order to become close once again. It is a wonderful and important thing to remember in life, especially as we get older.

Mulan

Mulan is honestly one of the most incredible role models for young people, especially young women. It teaches them to be strong and independent, and proves that women can be incredibly powerful people. Mulan is not the typical young lady, which does somewhat alienate her from the expectations of her family. Even though it can be difficult for her, Mulan eventually has to let her true colors shine through. When she does this she uses her intelligence and her problem solving abilities in order to make a real difference for those around her. Mulan does not wait for others to rescue her, instead she is the one who does the rescuing. She is one of the most amazing role models ever created, and definitely proves that Disney sets great examples for young people.

Frozen

Frozen is a representation of familial love, instead of romantic love. Anna and Elsa ultimately break a spell based on their bond of sisterhood, instead of looking towards true love from a man. Elsa is also the embodiment of strength and independence, and she does not have a love interest at all. She does not need a man by her side to make her whole, instead she focuses on learning to love herself and overcoming her own struggles in life. Anna also proves that rushing into romance can be a bad thing, she since finds herself falling for the wrong person at first. These aren’t the easiest lessons to learn, but they are extremely valuable ones which completely defy the stereotypes set around Disney films.

Perfection is Not a Good Role Model

Many of these characters get attacked because they possess flaws, but flaws are realistic. Having a perfect and ideal character is not going to set realistic standards for young people. These sort of flawless characters are not actually someone children can look up to and connect with on a deeper level. Real heroes overcome adversity and become stronger and better because of it. Disney characters set different examples and give plenty of diversity for people to connect with and ultimately aspire to.  Just because one person does not connect with a specific character, does not mean that film is setting bad examples- it simply means they aren’t the right character for that individual to relate to.

Disney is something that many of us grew up with and learned many hard but good lessons about life and growing up. They taught us that things aren’t always easy and that we will struggle, but it is the best people who become stronger and wiser through those struggles. Disney taught us to make mistakes, but to learn from them and to pick ourselves back up when we fall. These films show people what it means to strive for sincerity, kindness, altruism and to learn how to see the best in people. We learn to look past appearances and into someone’s soul, because it is truly what is on the inside that counts. Each film teaches us a lesson, but it sometimes takes putting aside our pride and ego in order to truly understand. Disney made me a better person, and I will stand by this truth as I continue to learn from these films well into adulthood.

The Top 10 Most Expensive Nintendo (NES) Video Games Ever Sold

The Top 10 Most Expensive Nintendo (NES) Video Games Ever Sold

The wave of nostalgia has become rather strong in recent years, and continues to grow even stronger. While most of your new video game purchases depreciate in value the second you open the plastic wrapping, some of your old games might just do the opposite. We don’t often expect that video games we enjoyed as children could become something that might just make us a small fortune someday, but life can be rather surprising. It never seems to be the items you expect to be valuable, that do in fact end up being extremely lucrative one day.

With the recent boom in classic video games, players are becoming obsessed with finding some of their old favorites. Some of the popular games aren’t all that hard to find, and they aren’t that expensive either. While there are others that have continued to grow in price and seem to be rather difficult to get your hands on. Some of these games are valuable simply because everyone wants them, and others are this way because they weren’t popular at all during their initial release. The games that were not that popular when they first came out, ended up having very few copies ever released. The fact that such a small run was made has caused some of these older games to become extremely valuable- especially the ones that have gained a more recent respect for their unique gameplay. Here is our list of some of the most expensive and rare Nintendo games that you might just have from back in the day.

Stadium Events

This is not only the most expensive and rare NES game, but likely the priciest game entirely. It sold in its original packaging for over $40,000, but used it can go for a couple thousand. It is hard to put a strict value on this game, since there are only around 200 in existence. Anything with such a limited release number is bound to become valuable over time, since the people possessing it can often control the market.

Nintendo Campus Challenge

In 1991 Nintendo held a competition at various college campuses with a special cartridge created for the events. The cartridge included Super Mario, Dr. Mario and Pinbot and only had 6 minutes of gameplay before taking score. It is said that only one is in circulation currently and it sold for over $20,000. This is certainly the rarest game on the NES market, making it extremely illusive and expensive.

Nintendo World Championships Gold

Only 26 of these were given out after the 1990 world championships, making it one of the rarest video games ever. It sells for somewhere around $18,000, which is an absolutely insane price tag for a classic cartridge. It includes Super Mario, Tetris and Rad Racer and collects a combined score after only 6 minutes of gameplay.

Peek-A-Boo Poker

A rather risqué and pornographic video game, this features what is essentially strip poker with a group of women. Since it wasn’t really a popular game, being that mostly children played NES games back during its release, it is definitely rare. It can sell for over $1,000 to the right buyer looking to collect this unusual game.

Cheetahmen II

Being that this game was never officially released, it is extremely rare now. Around 1,500 of them were later found in a warehouse and sold, making those in circulation incredibly hard to acquire. It can sell for over $400 online, depending on the condition of the game itself.

Punch Out Special Edition

Only 10,000 copies of this special gold edition were ever made and given as part of a competition in Japan. In this version Super Macho Man is actually the final fight, making it different than the final release version. It can sell for around $400, and is more geared towards collectors who simply want to get their hands on something rare.

Little Samson

The reason that this specific NES game is so rare, is because very few were ever made. It was created for NES after the release of the Super Nintendo had already occurred, making less people interested in their older console. This caused Little Sampson to become an extremely rare game, and now causing it to become rather expensive as well. Fans now appreciate its gameplay and many wish they still had this game in their collection. The game itself can sell for thousands online, but there are many fakes it appears being sold with a cover sticker that looks identical to the original.

Ducktales 2

While the original Ducktales game is certainly a popular game, the sequel didn’t catch as much attention. The fact that many fans weren’t even aware of its creation, caused it to boom in price later on. A less common game, it can sell for $300 when sold in the original box.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters

While many fans weren’t all that excited about this tournament style fighting game for the NES, it has since become a much more desirable game. Fans now enjoy the TMNT characters in this fighting style, which was certainly unique for the NES. It has also become popular because most TMNT fans enjoy being able to collect just about anything that reminds them of these classic and nostalgic turtles. While it isn’t crazy valuable compared to some other games, it does sell for over $100, sometimes even more when in its original box.

Flintstones Surprise at Dino Peak

Since this game was released a few years after the Super Nintendo game out, most gamers had moved on from the NES. The late release means fewer copies made, which means this game has now become much more valuable. It can actually sell for over $100, making it a rare find for fans who enjoy collecting the classics.
