Trip World

This game never saw a North American release, which could be a large part of its appeal and price. While a loose copy can sell for a couple hundred dollars, in its original packaging it recently went for as high as $1,300! The gameplay is centered around a bunny looking character (seriously adorable) called Yakopoo, carrying out a quest to retrieve the flower of peace to return a sense of normalcy to his chaotic world. Yakopoo is capable of shapeshifting into three different primary forms, allowing the player to control him with different skills and abilities. Yackopoo can run and jump in his normal form, can fly in another form and become a fish in his third for. There are also various other special forms that Yackopoo can utilize in order to deal with enemies and adapt to the situation.

Amazing Tater

This game is certainly one of the rarest and most challenging to actually get your hands on. In its packaging it can sell for around $800, but still selling for a couple hundred loose. This puzzle based game is definitely one that collectors want to get their hands on, but will likely have a hard time doing so. Throughout the game you must guide a potato through each level, working to make your way towards the exit. All of these levels require maneuvering and adjusting to make it through a puzzle in order to get to the finish.

Spud’s Adventure

This game is very similar to Amazing Tater, since it is from the same series. Part of the rarity of this game is that it saw such low production numbers, now making it truly desirable for collectors. This game is just another puzzle based game, where your main character must go on a mission to save Princess Mato from Devil. Depending on the condition and if it is still in original packaging it can sell for close to $700.

Mega Man IV

Much like other Mega Man games the gameplay is classic but it includes various different bosses and levels which make this edition desirable for collectors. That fact that this specific version has not been re-released, causes it to maintain its value and even continue to rise over time. This specific edition can sell for around $600 complete.

Mega Man V

Of course, any Mega Man super fan wants to get ahold of any collectible or different version of their favorite game. There are plenty of differences which make the GameBoy version still desirable for collectors and Mega Man fans. While Mega Man 5 is one of the most popular installments, it also makes it one of the more difficult ones to find. While a loose copy can sell for a little over $50, a full version can actually be sold for close to $500 now. It has certainly increased over the years, and has become one that collects are scrambling to get their hands on.

Castlevania Legends

This might not be one of the favorites for gameplay, it is still highly desirable for collectors. This game can sell for almost $300 complete, and is certainly one the higher side of GameBoy prices. While it isn’t necessary a fan favorite for gameplay, since it is so different than the usual Castlevania games, it is still one that super fans want to snag.

Kid Dracula

This parody spinoff of the popular Castlevania series, definitely has some comedic and goofy elements to its style. Any true Castlevania collectors want to get their hands on this game, snagging it as quickly as they can find it. The strong desire for this as a collectors item, has quickly increased the value, especially since it was already fairly rare. The game can actually sell for anywhere from $100- $700 depending on the condition and if it is in complete packaging.

Pokemon Red

Obviously the Pokemon games are some of the most desirable and nostalgic for many of us gamers. They were ones that many of us played for hours on end, and still remain an extremely popular all around franchise. Pokemon red and blue were the very first games released. While there were many copies released, that makes Pokemon red a less rare game, it is still extremely valuable in its complete packaging. The loose version can sell for as little as $20, but for collectors wanting the complete edition, this can actually go for a few hundred dollars!

Jimmy Connors Tennis

While many sports games aren’t really ones that most collectors or fans desire, they can become fairly rare because of it. This specific edition did not become popular when it first sold, and so many less copies were made. The fact that so few exist has made this game quite rare and fairly valuable. Complete it can sell for a few hundred dollars, and is definitely a snag for collectors and fans of Jimmy Connors. Even a used copy of this game can sell for close to $100, which is rare for most GameBoy games.

Toxic Crusaders

This game is actually based on a cartoon, which was based on the 1984 horror comedy The Toxic Avengers. The sheer unusualness of this series caused this game to gain less attention, which of course makes it much rarer. That fact that it gained so little attention actually caused this game to be hard to find, and now interested fans will have to pay anywhere from $100-$300.
